EKUTHULENI LODGE, WELGEVONDEN PRIVATE GAME RESERVE, WATERBERG
Ekuthuleni — Place of Peace — and the name could not be more fitting. Five standalone double suites with thatched roofs, stone accents and expansive glass walls look out over the savanna and a busy waterhole, where the African wilderness delivers its own entertainment around the clock.
EFA was brought in to transform an existing lodge, built in a colonial style with a wrap-around verandah facing the plain. The intervention was decisive: a new entertainment space, swimming pool and boma, all oriented to face the waterhole and the action beyond. The addition of these elements changed the whole character and energy of the lodge — drawing guests out of their suites and into the landscape.
A place of peace, with a front row seat to the wild.
